MMA run events all year round, both in term time and holidays. From christmas carols in Rochester Cathedral, to thousands of pupils singing and playing in the Central Theatre, Chatham, there's something for everyone!
A vibrant and welcoming Saturday music center offering young musicians in Medway the chance to play, sing, and develop together. With ensembles for all skill levels - from beginner string groups to advanced wind bands - it provides a supportive environment for students aged 7 to 18 to develop their musical talents. Sessions take place at Rainham Mark Grammar School during term time, culminating in exciting concerts each year. Whether you're just starting out or already play at a high level, there's a place for you to make music, build confidence, and have fun.
A dynamic orchestra bringing together Medway’s most passionate young musicians to perform exciting and challenging repertoire. Open to orchestral players from Grade 4 upwards, MYO offers the chance to rehearse weekly under expert guidance, develop advanced ensemble skills, and work alongside professional musicians. With special collaborations – including an ongoing partnership with The Sixteen – and inspiring performances throughout the year, MYO gives students the opportunity to reach new musical heights, make lasting friendships, and experience the thrill of playing in a full symphony orchestra.
An energetic and inclusive ensemble for woodwind, brass, and percussion players at Grade 2 level and above. Under the direction of Graham Mann, the band rehearses weekly at MMA’s Saturday Music Centre to prepare for exciting concerts and events. MWB performs a lively mix of music – from traditional wind band classics to movie themes and pop favourites – giving students the chance to perform, grow in confidence, and enjoy making great music together. Double bass and bass guitar players are also welcome to join the fun!

Open to students in Years 5–13, these fun and interactive sessions guide you through producing your own tracks using an online Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Learn how to craft beats, mix sounds, and create music for films, games, and more – all from your own computer. Whether you’re a total beginner or an aspiring producer, you’ll gain real music-making skills in a relaxed and supportive online environment. All you need is a laptop, Chrome browser, and your imagination!
