March Festival

We are sorry to confirm that we are unable to run MMA's March Festival 2021.

We are incredibly sad to have to cancel another of MMA’s annual Events, however the current restrictions mean it is impossible to go ahead.

To ensure that your pupils do not miss out on valuable music education and celebration this academic year, we are in the process of putting together a range of resources to support schools.

We will provide further information early in term 4.

Thank you all for your ongoing support.

In March each year, pupils of all ages participate in instrumental and choral workshop activities which culminate in a series of festival concerts at the Central Theatre in Chatham.

The first day of the March Festival involves workshops and performances from a variety of young instrumentalists including a recorder ensemble made up of approximately 200 players from various primary schools across Medway.

The remaining four days of the March Festival (Tuesday - Friday) involve choral activities for over 2350 pupils in KS1 and KS2. On each day, approximately 400 pupils take part in massed singing and then each school choir also perform their own song on the stage.

Past festivals have also included performances from a ukulele ensemble, The Medway Schools Wind Band and The Medway Schools Training Wind Band.
